My top 3 planner choices to help me control my chaos.
Let me enlighten you… Reading or rather what book I’m reading, any chores I had, or maybe even a playdate or a friends birthday. As I grew my planner changed and my so did my appointments and activities I needed to track also changed. Exams, mid-terms, reports, study group meets, practices, etc…
Of course, then I grew some more and enter “real” life!
Ugh! Then there was work, training, meetings, grocery lists, menu plans, kids activities, Dr. appointments, practice meets, volunteering activities, school activities and sooo much more.
Inevitably, I’ve always had more than one planner going on at once. Some of you may be thinking MORE than one? I can barely track one. 🙂 For me that’s what worked and still does, although my children are no longer in school or even living at home and I no longer have a “regular” 9-5 job I still have multiple planners.
Allow me to enlighten you.
Planners for planning and organizing.
I currently use a Classic Happy Planner for my daily To Do lists. Since it’s already broken down into three sections daily, I use one for Household, Blog, Family.
In my household section I’ll plan out my laundry days, cleaning sections, menu for the day, etc.
For my blog section I’ll plan out any posts I’m working on, Podcast I want to listen to, Video training I want to take, etc.
And, for my family section I’ll use for veterinary appointments, Dr. appointments for both my husband, mother or myself, reminders to text my children, or most importantly FaceTime my grand baby. Yes, some of you are thinking- a reminder to text her children. You see I need to remind myself to keep in touch or else both my children and myself will get lost in our everyday lives and forget to keep in touch. After all, we all have busy lives.
Coil Bound Recollections Planner
I also use a coil bound Recollection planner for me personally.
That planner goes with me wherever I go, It’s compact enough to fit in my purse ( FYI- I don’t use a small purse ) in that planner I have my volunteer activities, meetings for my volunteer group, I transfer any pertinent information from the ” Family” section of the Happy Planner to my Recollection planner as needed and I also use a section of that planner as my habit tracker, reading tracker, and goals tracker. Plus I also use the notes section for whatever comes to mind.
3 Ring Printable Planner
Lastly, I’ve been using a 3 ring binder with printable calendar sheets for my blog.
This one is still a work in progress as I see what works, what needs tweaking, what doesn’t apply to me, at this point in time on my blog, and what I need to keep handy with all of my other blog things.
I use different sheets from different bloggers that have made them available thru either a subscription on their sites or from the Ultimate Bundles’ Blogger Toolkit Bundle that was sold earlier this year.
I’ve used pages from:
A Well Crafted Blog’s Post Checklist
Mommy Runs On Coffee Posting Checklist
Mom’s Small Victories Editorial Calendar & some other pages
Since this last planner is customizable, I’m seeing what works for me this year and what doesn’t.
I am super excited that Living Well Spending Less is getting ready to release their planner for this coming year!
You can be sure I will be buying this one as I try and consolidate my planners into at least 2. I’d love to have my life/social planner and blog planner all in one and the Living Well Planner seems to be just what I’m looking for. We’ll see.
I’ll keep you posted once I purchase and get mine.
In the meantime, what planners(s) do you use to keep organized? Let me know.
