Why the need for Self Care? No matter what season of life you’re in at this moment in time.
Self Care is crucial and beneficial to your health
If you don’t make Self Care a crucial and integral part of your life you will end up feeling overwhelmed, stresses, irritable and burnt out.
You’re probably thinking, Please! Self Care, I can barely get food on the table, kiddos ready for bed, make sure we all have clean clothes for tomorrow and the car has gas.
Where exactly does “self care” fit into my schedule?
Self Care is really “not” an option when it comes to your health, sanity and livelihood.
If you don’t prioritize some form of self care for yourself you will burn out faster than a meteor crashing onto earth.
The only thing worse than crashing is a complete and utter mental breakdown.
When we’re not at the top or even middle of our game, everything around us tends to suffer in some way, shape or form.
From the dishes piling up in the sink, to the laundry become something short of Mount Kilimanjaro. Something “always” gives.
If working 10 to 12 hour days Monday thru Friday and using the weekend to “catch up” on your non work To Do list, yet nowhere on that list is even 15 minutes of self care then let me tell you.
You NEED to step back and re-evaluate your Day(s). Figure out what’s Important to “you” and your family.
What do you need to do to make time for you and the self care you so desperately need?
Is it making it a point to leave the office by 6pm to make sure you’re home in time to have dinner with the family around the dinner table and talk to each other?
Minus the electronics. Tables, phones, laptops, TV, music, etc.
Does it mean saying “no” to another project/volunteer opportunity that is offered to you?
What needs to be cut out of your daily/weekly To Do list in order for you to make some “ME” time and give yourself some needed self care?
